In the second quarter of 2022, the top five navigation and maps applications on a unified platform in Africa displayed interesting trends in their performance. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides insights into weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

Google Earth saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 76K in late April. However, downloads experienced a gradual decline towards the end of the quarter, settling around 54K in the last week of June. Weekly active users for the app remained relatively stable, hovering around 370K throughout the quarter.

GPS Navigation Live Earth Map exhibited a remarkable surge in weekly downloads, reaching a high of about 127K in mid-May. Despite this peak, the downloads tapered off to 40K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar trend, increasing from 4K at the start of the quarter to over 71K by the end.
